For this edition of The AP Journal, we speak with Sandra — mother, creative mind, and part of the world behind Ann Perica.
Between motherhood, creative projects, and life between the countryside and the city, she shares what currently inspires her, the stories carried through meaningful pieces of jewelry, and why the most personal objects often become quiet companions throughout different chapters of life.
WHO ARE YOU, AND WHAT ARE YOU PASSIONATE ABOUT IN YOUR DAILY LIFE OR PROFESSION?
I’m Sandra, a mom to a one-year-old girl, moving through life somewhere between routines, ideas, and all the little in-between moments. I love capturing the real, unposed ones – exactly as I see them. At the moment, I’m designing our new home and truly enjoying the process.
Alongside motherhood, I’m deeply passionate about my work at Ann Perica. Being able to create and shape things in both worlds feels incredibly aligned. And honestly… I feel very lucky to be part of such a beautiful brand and to help shape it as it grows.
WHAT DOES JEWELRY MEAN TO YOU – IN EVERYDAY LIFE OR DURING SPECIAL MOMENTS?
I tend to wear and own very little jewelry – whether for everyday life or special occasions – but I choose each piece very consciously. Because of that, every piece carries a special meaning, each one connected to a story.
IS THERE A PIECE OF JEWELRY THAT ACCOMPANIES YOU CLOSELY OR TELLS A SPECIAL STORY?
Yes, several. I have my grandmother’s engagement ring, as well as my father’s signet ring engraved with our family crest. Both pieces carry stories that go far beyond the material.
And then there is something very personal: together with Ann Perica, I designed a ring for my daughter. For me, it represents connection – a connection between past, present, and future.
My next project will be my own engagement and wedding rings. We’ve done things a little unconventionally – we’re already married, but the rings could wait. It makes it feel even more special to design them now.
In the most meaningful way, I hope all of these pieces will accompany me throughout my life and one day be passed on to my daughter – together with their stories.
WHAT WOULD YOU DEFINE AS THE SIGNATURE PIECE OF ANN PERICA?
The Pomander. A piece with a long history, reinterpreted by Ann Perica: originally a portable scent object from the Middle Ages, filled with essences and worn as protection, ritual, and an expression of sensuality.
Today, this idea is translated into a minimal form – a gold pendant with a ceramic capsule that can be infused with a personal fragrance.
WHAT IS CURRENTLY INSPIRING YOU OR GIVING YOU STRENGTH?
Nature definitely gives me strength – always, but especially in spring and summer. And when it comes to inspiration: one of my fashion design lecturers once said,
“You will find inspiration in everything – if not, look again.” This sentence has stayed with me ever since. I truly believe that inspiration is everywhere – in encounters, in light, and in the quiet rhythms of everyday life. You just have to be willing to look a little closer.

IF SOMEONE WERE LOOKING FOR YOU IN YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD – AT WHICH FAVORITE SPOT WOULD THEY MOST LIKELY FIND YOU?
I recently moved to the countryside and truly enjoy being outdoors with my daughter and our dog, Frankie. You will most likely find us near the horses and sheep, on long walks along the river, or in our garden, where we’ve just planted strawberries.
At the same time, I deeply love the city – Zürich has my heart, which is why I really appreciate still working there. When I’m in Zurich, you’ll find me at the Ann Perica showroom, or before and after work somewhere in the Seefeld area, or in Kreis 4 with my daughter – usually with an iced latte and a babyccino at a café.
